Dear Sevier County Citizens, Hooray After several years of fund raising, design, and construction, the Veterans Memorial is nearly complete. During the winter months we intend to finish the Memorial, which consists mainly of the engraving of veteran's names on the four large monoliths. Flags are currently flying, and military flags will fly on important holidays such as Veterans Day, July 4th, July 24th, Memorial Day, and the like. Benchs will soon be placed, major donors will be engraved as well. We will have a dedication ceremony in the spring of 2013. We hope that you enjoy the memorial, and that it will serve as a reminder to all that "freedom isn't free" and that we owe so much to our defenders of liberty and freedom.
We continue to accept veteran names for the monument and of course, donations to help maintain the monument. If you have a veteran who has not yet been submitted for engraving, just click on the link for the name submission/donation form. Also, you can donate to the project even if you do not have a veteran in your family. Please use the name submission/donation form and work with your extended families for the needed names and donations to send to us. If you have any questions or require additional forms, you may contact the city staff at (435) 896-6439 and they will be glad to help you. I would like to thank you for your support of this project and I believe this monument will be one of the greatest assets in our community and valley.
Thank You,
Brad C. Ramsay
